A 67ª edição do Emmy Awards foi celebrada neste domingo (20) e entra para a história por quebrar a tradição da Academia de Artes e Ciências Televisivas de raramente premiar produções de fantasia.

Game of Thrones foi a grande vencedora da noite com 12 prêmios. O feito é considerado um recorde, afinal nenhuma série havia sido tão premiada em apenas um ano anteriormente.
A supremacia da HBO ficou evidente na premiação. Além de Game of Thrones, o canal também faturou o prêmio de melhor série de comédia, com Veep.
A atração protagonizada por Julia Louis-Dreyfus, eleita a melhor atriz de série de comédia, deu fim à hegemonia de Modern Family.
Outro resultado surpreendente na noite foi a vitória de Viola Davis, protagonista de How To Get Away With Murder, como melhor atriz de série dramática. Foi a primeira vez que uma atriz negra venceu a categoria.
“A única coisa que separa as mulheres negras das outras é a oportunidade. Não é possível ganhar prêmio por um papel que não existe”, discursou Viola.
Um dos prêmios mais esperados da noite, a estatueta de melhor ator de série dramática parece ter ido para as mãos certas. Indicado oito vezes, Jon Hamm finalmente venceu por sua atuação como Don Draper, de Mad Men. A série foi encerrada este ano, depois de oito temporadas.
Hamm mostrou alívio por ter conquistado o reconhecimento da Academia e se arrastou até o palco para receber o troféu das mãos de Tina Fey. “Não, não, não, não. Certamente cometeram um grave engano. Obrigado por isto”, disse ao receber a estatueta.
